Misty Fjords

The Misty Fjords National
Monument contains some of Alaska's most spectacular scenery within its
2.3 million acres of wilderness. On this flightseeing trip, you'll soar
over majestic fjords, cascading waterfalls,
and jewel-like lakes. The sheer walls
of granite rising over 3,000 feet are awe inspiring. Along the way look
for mountain goats, bear, deer, wolves, whales, and bald eagles. Your
tour includes landing on a wilderness lake where you'll be able to step
out onto the floats of your seaplane and experience the Alaska wilderness
in a truly remote setting. A perfect place to take pictures!

Two bear-viewing tours are available from July through September.
Traitors Cove - 2.5
Hours
Traitors Cove is in the pristine Tongass National Forest. An easy
quarter-mile rain forest hike along a planked Forest Service trail will
take you to a wildlife viewing platform overlooking a waterfall on Margaret
Creek. It is a prime location from which to view black bears catching
spawning salmon as they ascend the falls. A naturalist/guide will accompany
you on this bear tour.
Anan Creek - 3.5
Hours
Anan Creek, 30 minutes by floatplane from Ketchikan, provides a unique
opportunity for viewing wildlife. As you hike the half-mile improved forest
trail along Anan Creek to a Forest Service observatory you are likely
to see a bald eagles, seals, mink, marten, and wolves. At the falls, you'll
find brown and black bear feeding on the large salmon runs. You've heard
about this; you've read about it. Now see it for yourself. It is an amazing
experience!
